# Qt5/C++11 → Qt6/C++17 Migration Status

## Session 030: BUILD_RTI Schutz für THP und Build-Erfolg (2026-08-28)

### ✅ THP-Haupttarget mit BUILD_RTI-Schutz versehen

**Problem:** THP-Application benötigte SituationMapPlugin/Gui/SituationMap/AdapterDds, welches `sitmapdds_export.h` benötigt. Dieser Header wird nur bei `BUILD_RTI=ON` generiert.

**Lösung:** Gesamtes THP-Target mit `IF(BUILD_RTI)` umschlossen:

#### Lts/Application/THP/CMakeLists.txt
- **Änderung:** `ADD_SUBDIRECTORY(THP-Starter)` und `FIND_PACKAGE(VLC)` mit `IF(BUILD_RTI)` geschützt
- **Betroffene Targets:** thp_viewer, THP-Starter
- **Begründung:** THP verwendet SitmapDds und SituationMapPlugin (nur bei BUILD_RTI verfügbar)

## Session 029: Qt6 Location Module Made Optional (2026-08-26)

### ✅ Qt6 Location/Positioning Modules Made Optional

**Problem:** Qt6 Location module not available for Qt 6.10.2 via aqtinstall, causing CMake configuration failures.

**Root Cause:** Qt6 Location was searched as REQUIRED component in root CMakeLists.txt and module-specific CMakeLists.txt files.

**Solution:** Made Location and Positioning modules optional across all CMakeLists.txt files:

#### 1. Root CMakeLists.txt
- **File:** `qt5-before/qt5-legatus-legacy/CMakeLists.txt`
- **Changes:**
  - Removed `Location` and `Positioning` from `REQUIRED COMPONENTS` in FIND_PACKAGE(Qt6...)
  - Added separate optional FIND_PACKAGE for Location and Positioning
  - Modules requiring Location must now check availability before linking

#### 2. Simulator Tool
- **File:** `Lts/Tools/rme-playback/simulator/CMakeLists.txt`
- **Changes:**
  - Moved Location from REQUIRED to optional FIND_PACKAGE
  - Conditional linking: `if(Qt6Location_FOUND) target_link_libraries(...)`
  - Warning message if Location not found

#### 3. EsriMapTouchTest
- **File:** `Lts/Viewer/SituationMap/Tests/EsriMapTouchTest/CMakeLists.txt`
- **Changes:**
  - Migrated from Qt5 to Qt6
  - Location and Positioning made optional

**Problem:** External dependencies (VLC, Schusstafel, ArcGIS) caused CMake configuration failures when not available in build environment.

**Solution:** Made all external dependencies optional via CMake options:

#### 1. VLC Integration (Lts/Application/THP)
- **File:** `Lts/Application/THP/CMakeLists.txt`
- **Option:** `WITH_VLC` (default OFF)
- **Changes:**
  - `FIND_PACKAGE(VLC)` only called when `WITH_VLC=ON`
  - `THP_HAS_VLC` compile definition controls conditional compilation
  - VLC headers protected with `#ifdef THP_HAS_VLC` in C++ code

#### 2. Schusstafel Integration (Lts/Services/CentralEffectSimulation)
- **File:** `Lts/Services/CentralEffectSimulation/CMakeLists.txt`
- **Option:** `WITH_SCHUSSTAFEL` (default OFF)
- **Changes:**
  - `FIND_PACKAGE(Schusstafel)` only called when `WITH_SCHUSSTAFEL=ON`
  - Conditional linking of Schusstafel libraries

#### 3. ArcGIS Integration (Explosions Plugin)
- **File:** `Lts/Services/CentralEffectSimulation/Plugins/Explosions/CMakeLists.txt`
- **Option:** `WITH_ARCGIS` (default OFF)
- **Changes:**
  - `FIND_PACKAGE(ArcGIS)` only called when `WITH_ARCGIS=ON`
  - Conditional linking of `ArcGIS::ArcGIS`

#### 4. Qt6 Core5Compat Module
- **File:** `app/Dockerfile`
- **Change:** Added `qt5compat` module to aqt install command
- **Purpose:** Provides QTextCodec compatibility for qsql_informix and TextEditorTest
- **Line 64:** `aqt install-qt ... qt5compat`

### ✅ QTextCodec Qt6 Compatibility Fixes

Fixed QTextCodec-related migration issues in Z and Lts/Tools modules:

1. **Z/src/qsql_informix/qsql_informix.cpp**
   - Line 24: Fixed include path `#include <QtCore/QTextCodec>` → `#include <QtGui/QTextCodec>`
   - QTextCodec moved from QtCore to QtGui module in Qt6

2. **Z/src/qsql_informix/CMakeLists.txt**
   - Added `Qt6::Gui` dependency to TARGET_LINK_LIBRARIES
   - Required for QTextCodec functionality in Qt6

3. **Lts/Tools/TextEditorTest/textedit.cpp**
   - Line 370: Fixed `Qt::codecForHtml(data)` → `QTextCodec::codecForHtml(data)`
   - In Qt6, codecForHtml is a static method on QTextCodec class, not Qt namespace function

**Technical Details:**
- QTextCodec relocation: QtCore (Qt5) → QtGui (Qt6)
- API change: `Qt::codecForHtml()` → `QTextCodec::codecForHtml()` (static method)
- Both changes are minimal, required for Qt6 compatibility
- No behavioral changes, semantics preserved

## Session 026: ddscore Optional Dependency Fix (2026-08-26)

### ✅ ddscore Conditional Linking Implementation

**Problem**: ddscore target is only defined when `BUILD_RTI=ON` (in Lts/DDS/Core/CMakeLists.txt), but 42 CMakeLists.txt files referenced it as a required dependency, causing build failures when BUILD_RTI=OFF.

**Solution**: Applied ElevationMap pattern using `$<IF:$<TARGET_EXISTS:ddscore>,ddscore,>` generator expression for conditional linking.

**Pattern Applied**:

- Files: OpApp, DataSampleReceiver, CodificationManagement, PlanEditor, fire_automaton, LogViewer, OPM Login, Timeline widgets, FilterWorker (macro)

**qrand/qsrand** (6 files):
- Replaced with `QRandomGenerator::global()->bounded()`
- Added `#include <QtCore/QRandomGenerator>`

**qAsConst** (all Lts files):
- Removed unnecessary qAsConst calls (Qt6 range-based for handles const automatically)
- 2 intentional exceptions for r-value expressions

**NGLLogger CMakeLists.txt**:
- Added INGLLogger.h and NGLLogger_export.h to source list
- Fixed include paths for Qt6
